Akin Akinyemi

Akin Akinyemi PhD, RA, CFA, CMS

Property Appraiser


Akin Akinyemi was elected as the Leon County Property Appraiser in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. In this role, he oversees the office's state-mandated responsibilities, annually certifying property values and exemptions for over 111,000 parcels totaling over $36 billion in just value and over $21 billion in taxable value. His strategic priorities for the office include exceptional public service, a culture of excellence, a commitment to innovation, and organizational effectiveness.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Akin came to the United States to study architecture and urban planning and ran a successful regional architecture firm for more than 20 years. Akin holds a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Studies from Florida State University, a Master of Architecture from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture & Housing Development from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Lagos. He has lived in Tallahassee for more than 30 years. Akin is married to Eva; together they have four children and five grandchildren.

Akin served as a Leon County Commissioner from 2008 through 2012, where he was selected as chair of the Value Adjustment Board from 2010 to 2011, and as chair of the commission from 2011 to 2012. He is a strong advocate for our community and the environment. That commitment led him to volunteer and serve on boards of many non-profit organizations, in our local schools, and in the business community. He has served as president of Brehon Family Services and on the boards of Goodwill Industries, The Dick Howser Center, Ability 1st, FAMU School of Architecture Alumni Network, Sunrise Rotary Club, Chiles High School Student Advisory Council, and the Leon County Schools District Advisory Council. Additionally, Akin has held leadership roles for the Florida Association of Counties and the National Association of Counties and is a current member of the Greater Tallahassee and Capital City Chambers of Commerce.

Gina Fletcher

Gina Fletcher AAS, CPM, CFE

Assistant Property Appraiser


Gina is responsible for the administration of the office as a whole and serves in the Property Appraiser’s place in his absence. In this role, she ensures the office provides quality customer service and a fair and equitable assessment roll. Gina began her career in the Clay County Property Appraiser’s office in 1990 and transferred to the Leon County Property Appraiser’s office in 1996. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate. She has earned two designations, Certified Supervisory Manager (CSM) and Certified Public Manager (CPM), from the Florida Center for Public Management at FSU. Additionally, Gina has earned her Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) from the Florida Department of Revenue and Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

Chris Lewis

Chris Lewis CGCIO, MCSE, CFE

Director of Information Technology


A graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Chris began working for the Property Appraiser’s office in March of 2000. He holds certifications from Microsoft, Oracle, and the International Association of Assessing Officers. He oversees the planning, development, implementation, and use of technology throughout the office and this public website. His areas of responsibility include the full range of information systems and telecommunications, including determining user requirements, recommending practical solutions, and leading efforts to improve the effective use of technology in our office.

Andy Janecek

Andy Janecek CFE

Director of Public Relations


Andy is responsible for promoting the office of the Leon County Property Appraiser by strengthening community relationships through public relations, marketing activities, social media engagement, and strategic public awareness campaigns. A graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Social Science, Andy began working for the Property Appraiser's office in 2021. Andy brings to the office over 20 years of public management experience and a diverse history of public engagement and community relations roles. He serves on the boards of Big Bend Cares and the Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and is an alumnus of Leadership Tallahassee Class 40.

Amanda Corker

Amanda Bradham CPM, CFE

Director of Finance and Human Resources


Amanda graduated from Barry University with a Bachelor’s in Public Administration and holds the Certified Public Manager (CPM) and Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designations. Passionate about Human Resources, Amanda’s primary goal is to ensure all employees have the tools and resources they need to succeed in the workplace. Amanda is responsible for managing all financial matters that include but are not limited to payroll, accounts payables, and balancing the checking and money market accounts. Quarterly reports required by the IRS and Unemployment Compensation, end of fiscal year closeout, and audits are also a vital part of her position.

Meghan Poskey

Meghan Poskey CPM, CFE

Director of Exemptions


Meghan is a life-long resident of Tallahassee and a proud graduate of the University of Florida. She holds the Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation from the Florida Center for Public Management at FSU, and the Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designation from the Florida Department of Revenue. With over ten years of experience serving the residents of Leon County and the state of Florida, Meghan oversees the administration of property tax exemptions and customer service.

Nik Cutrell

Nik Cutrell RES, AAS, CFE

Chief Deputy of Appraisal Services


As Chief Deputy of Appraisal Services, Nik is responsible for the annual valuation of various property types, including residential, commercial, industrial, vacant land, and agricultural properties. Additionally, he oversees in-depth audits by the Florida Department of Revenue for assessment equity and compliance with Florida Statutes. Nik has been with the Property Appraiser’s office for more than 20 years. During that time, he has completed over 400 hours of coursework with the International Association of Assessing Officers. This has earned him two professional designations - the Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES) and the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS). Nik is a graduate of Florida State University.

 Carmen Trammell

Director of Ownership Records


Carmen is a proud graduate of Florida State University. She holds a Certified Florida Evaluator designation from the Florida Department of Revenue and a real estate paraprofessional certification from Attorneys’ Title Fund. In addition, she brings more than 30 years of legal, legislative, and administrative experience to our office. Carmen is a long-time board member of the Tallahassee Veterans Legal Collaborative. Further, she serves on two committees for the International Association of Assessing Officers: the IAAO Diversity and Inclusion Task Force and the IAAO Women’s Initiative Network.

 Valencia Scott

Valencia Scott

Deputy Director of Public Relations


Valencia has over 18 years of experience with the Leon County Property Appraiser’s Office. She is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and facilitating digital content and implementing community outreach initiatives. Her work is vital in educating the public regarding our office’s primary roles and responsibilities, including broadening community awareness of various property tax exemptions. Valencia has a zeal for serving and educating others. During her 20 years as a Tallahassee resident, she has become involved with many local fraternal, professional, community, and service organizations.

IAAO Logo The Leon County Property Appraiser's Office has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

The CEAA award is in recognition of utilizing best appraisal and assessment practices. In 2012, our office became the 11th jurisdiction nationally to earn the certificate since the inception of the program, and the 8th jurisdiction in Florida. The office was recertified in 2018.
