Property Tax Exemption Season is Here!

The Leon County Property Appraiser’s Office encourages eligible homeowners to take advantage of valuable property tax exemptions before the March 1 deadline. These exemptions can save you hundreds of dollars each year. To make filing easy and convenient, our team is offering extended office hours and hosting neighborhood filing opportunities throughout the month of February.

Neighborhood Filing Opportunities

To better serve our community, our property tax experts will be hosting neighborhood filing opportunities at local libraries in February. These convenient, walk-in events bring our office closer to you. No appointment is required. Our team will be available to answer your questions and assist with filing applications for any exemptions administered by our office.

IAAO Logo The Leon County Property Appraiser's Office has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment Administration from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

The CEAA award is in recognition of utilizing best appraisal and assessment practices. In 2012, our office became the 11th jurisdiction nationally to earn the certificate since the inception of the program, and the 8th jurisdiction in Florida. The office was recertified in 2018 and 2024.
